Off the Menu

Starbucks offer’s off the menu options, but the best way to order these drinks is to simply list what you want.  OR you can say “I’m still looking” when the barista asks you if you’re ready, then s/he’ll say “how about I make you something”.  You choose between: 1) coffee or not and 2) hot or cold.  It ends with free drinks and the option to ask for something on  the menu if you don’t like what s/he made.  The best part is that if you have a friend with you, you can get one for them too!

The one on the left is similar to the “Raspberry Cheesecake” with a minty touch, and the one on the right tastes like “Chocolate Turtle Flavor” aka a Girl Scout’s Samoas/Caramel Delight cookie, which you can find a homemade recipe for.

New Life Goal

Walking through the Foggy Bottom neighborhood to work, I noticed sculptures dispersed on every other block of so.  Strang…but I like art.  As I approached my third piece

I grabbed a brochure.  It’s the Arts in Foggy Bottom, duh.  There’s a map of the walking exhibit.

One day, I want to be want to belong to an association that supports arts actively.

Matte Clear Nail Polish Exists!

Look no further because today I tried O.P.I.’s Matte Clear Nail Strengthening Polish, and it was true to the label.  It’s grossly overpriced at Ulta, so I suggest ordering off Amazon.  After reading the reviews on Amazon though, it seems like a toss up with Orly Nails for Men

Eye Glands

I didn’t realize that that our eyelids had Meibomian glands.  Also known as the Tarsal glands, if they are blocked or don’t produce enough oil, then you could get dry eyes.  Solutions range from a hot compress to medicated creams.

When to Leave

If the Thought Catalog can publish something about on “saying goodbye“, then so can I.  Instead of an unfocused when to say goodbye piece, my suggestions are solely based on signs indicating when one should leave a relationship with a few caveats.

Leave When

you no longer feel appreciated (and give the person more than the hour s/he has to reply to your text message please)

everyday consists of long contentious battles over fundamental differences

you are being physically or psychologically abused (the latter is more difficult to recognize, but usually your friends and family will tell you when this happens – listen to them because they love you)

right before you’re about to cheat

you stop loving yourself.

With technology these days it’s most impossible to avoid spoilers.  You basically have to look like the child below.

If you’re new to the Olympics on NBC, then you’ve most likely heard a few of the race results before viewing the actual event.

My tip for keeping yourself in suspense: retreat into solitude – turn off the news on the TV, phone, internet, and you might even have to threaten your friends with your friendship if you’re really extreme!
